Concept of a new character named Percy (Percival). He is the son of Alta (her name might change). I’m still unsure about his design but he was created because I realized I didn’t have many kids in Sunny Hill. He obviously looks more like his father (who unfortunately passed before the story starts) but he has his mothers ambition. Cant decide if I want him to have blue or brown eyes, but for now they are blue so he resembles his mother a little. He loves her and thinks she is a hero. He is a half human/mythical and gets picked on heavily for it. He works really hard to show those in the story that he is smart and capable despite his halfling status. His mother formerly worked with Ari solving crimes/murders many years ago and they are still great friends. Whenever Percy see’s Ari, who is the closet father figure he has, he refers to him as Uncle Ari. Percy can get a tad furious sometimes when he gets ignored or teased. He is a brave kid who cares deeply for those who are rejected by society. He also has a curious side and often disappears, mostly to the library.
I’m in character creation mode for Sunny Hill… Any suggestions for types of characters that you feel the story is missing?
Wip of a commission i’m working on. I feel like I haven’t posted anything substantial in a while… So I hope this makes up for it. Probably will get it finished tonight or tomorrow.
The commission is for someone on deviant art known as makosharkman and they wanted a piece featuring Peter Pan, young James Hook, and Tiger Lilly (in this version she is Hooks sister).
Still filling in base colors. Some of the colors will change and I’ll try to clean up the line work a tad more.
Hmm… I consider myself not a very interesting person, but here it goes!~ :)
Fact 1: I love birds. Like, if I could be one, I would do it in a heartbeat. I think they are cuter than cats or dogs and consider them a lot smarter. They deserve more respect and recognition.
Fact 2: I know a good deal about feet, foot conditions, and shoe fitting. This mostly has to do with working in a shoe store, working with customers by helping them find the best fit. This involves me touching their feet, being a therapist, and being treated like I don’t know anything because of my age. I do love my job though because I do help a lot of people. (Bonus skill: I have the patience of a saint.)
Fact 3: My favorite color is red!
Fact 4: I have a 50/50 chance of getting a disease called Huntington’s disease. It really spooks me sometimes but it doesn’t do me any good to stress about it (or get a test), because in the end, there is no cure. Helps me take and appreciate everyday that I have. (Another reason why I need to get my comics done sooner).
Fact 5: The only time I ever traveled out of the United States (and across the ocean) was 2 years ago when I visited Paris for 8 days with my college classmates for a class called Art in Paris. It was awesome. Although I am a visual artist, my favorite over there was all the gorgeous architecture! My french is terrible.
(Bonus Fact: I have a really cute asian boyfriend! Next month we will be celebrating 4 1/2 years together!)
Tide Day began its journey 2 years ago, with this little squishy mermaid creature named Pearl. It has grown and bloomed into a children’s book over that time and now it needs YOUR help!! :D Please support and contribute to the making of Tide Day!!
Please Support and share this artist and her beautiful children’s book! Please donate, even if it’s a little, it all helps!
Hey everyone, if you have Skype and ever want to chat with me, I made a new one under chandrahabein. Let me know if your sending a request my way though, I’m going to try to keep it up/logged in whenever I’m on the computer.
Got one more commission to finish up then I’m back on track with Sunny Hill! :D
Where the magic happens :) My new studio!~
Tide Day! This is a self published book and my first one! Check out the link for more about this fun and rebellious mermaid and how to help this book get out on the shelves (and even score some free copies as well as your name in the first edition of the book!)
Please share/reblog! Help support this empowering children’s book!!!
Finally finished unpacking and setting up my studio! Yay!!! Now to quickly finished two commissions and then I’m back to Sunny Hill and the Sorcerer!
Finally moved into my new place~ :D
Getting ready to move…
Sorry for the delays in everything everyone… I’m moving in th next couple of days so I’ve been pretty busy. I promise though, when I’m all settled into my new place, I will start pumping out more Sunny Hill art. :)
(The only bummer about this whole moving thing though is that I can’t have my awesome cockatiel, Kirby, with me. At least my boyfriend is happy to take care of him and he’ll have another parrot to play with… still sad though…)
Here is the other prize for the other winner of my raffle on deviant art. These two are their original characters, Trudy and Tucker, dancing at prom.
